Getting Ready for Sunday | 02/17/2019
We will gather together again on Sunday, February 17th at 4pm for the Holy Eucharist. This Sunday we continue our walk through the season of Epiphany and look at how the local church lives the saving mission of Jesus Christ.
“The glory revealed in Christ is the glory of the kingdom of God, and Jesus wants his disciples to know this glory . . . . Therefore Jesus said, ‘But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you (Mt. 6:33). ‘Seek!’ Jesus urged his disciples, ‘You must seek!’ In his parables and pictures of the kingdom of God, Jesus makes it clear that those who will find and enter the kingdom are those who will proactively look for it. The kingdom of God is not a handout to be distributed to everyone regardless of his or her attitude or concern. On the one hand, no one can pay or earn his way into the kingdom, but on the other hand, everyone must actively seek it. After all, God’s love is working in them to draw out a loving longing for God in response.”
